The news is simply that I've added this Guestbook, which will double as a place for me to post news about site updates on.

Please feel free to post any comments or questions that you may have.

Rebels Of The Dark Chasms

Steven Taylor has kindly given his permission for the adaptation of his gamebook - currently available at http://www.fightingfantasy.com - for online play. Expect it to be ready sometime over the weekend.

Rebels Of The Dark Chasms

I've now got Steven Taylor's gamebook up and running.

Rebels Of The Dark Chasms is a fairly short (150 references) spin-off of Chasms Of Malice in which you play a dwarf rebel attempting to rescue your captured leader, Aspra Smoothcheek.

The Trial Of Allibor's Tomb

Jeff Sinasac has sent me an updated version of his gamebook which includes several fixes. I've incorporated these into the online version and added the Word version to the Downloads page.

Afterlife

Gavin Mitchell, author of Outsider, is toying with writing its 'sequel', Afterlife. Anyone who wants to see this happen should go to http://www.livejournal.com/users/vindice/26178.html?mode=reply , read what he's written so far, and offer encouragement.

House Of Horror

The next gamebook to be added to this site will be Gaetano Abbondanza's prequel to House Of Hell. I plan to have it ready within the next few weeks.

House Of Horror

I have added Gaetano Abbondanza's gamebook to the site.

House Of Horror has many elements in common with House Of Hell, including some familiar characters and situations. It's definitely a worthy tribute to Steve Jackson's book, and from what I remember of that, it compares very favourably.

Hellfire Bug Fix

Apologies to those who reached paragraph 441 (in the shop) only to encounter an error message. I have now fixed this problem.

Down Time

Sorry about the lack of reliability over the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it seems to be back to normal now.

The site appears to have been restored from a pre-Christmas backup, so unfortunately messages posted here, and possibly emails, over that period may have been lost.

Bodies In The Docks

Coming soon - Simon Osborne's Lovecraft-inspired gamebook. Expect it in about three weeks' time.

Bodies In The Docks

Here it is. I should point out that the rules have been heavily simplified from the original version, but the story remains unchanged.

Site Update

I've added Bodies In The Docks to the Downloads page.

As Hugh Eldred-Grigg's website, The Realms of Shabak seems to have disappeared, I've removed the links to it. If it ever returns, I'll restore them.

Riders Of The Storm

Phil Sadler's sequel to Hellfire can now be found on the Downloads page. There may eventually be an online version, time permitting.

Riders Of The Yeti

An updated version of Riders Of The Storm, in which a minor mistake has been corrected, is now available on the Downloads page.

Also added is Simon Osborne's very early work, Curse Of The Yeti.

Black Area

As well as changing the colours around, I've added (by kind permission of the author) the GAVIN MITCHELL EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW! originally posted on the Yahoo Gamebooks group.

Site Update

Two new additions.

Curse Of The Yeti by Simon Osborne (author of Bodies In The Docks). In its original form it has been on the downloads page for some time. It's an early work and not representative of Simon's recent writing.

Bad Moon Rising by Davy Stedham. This was originally known as Resurrection Girl. It is very short indeed, but may grow if it is well received.

Anyone who has attempted to visit the site within the last week or so will have noticed that it wasn't there. This was caused by the hosts failing to renew the domain name despite taking my money for doing so.

I'm now in the process of moving to a different host, which may take another couple of weeks. In the meantime the site will hopefully continue to work, but any messages posted to the guestbook from now on (and maybe the last few already posted) will probably be lost when the switch finally takes place.

Finally, everything is transferred to the new host and there should be no problems from now on. As I indicated above, the most recent guestbook messages have been lost, which sadly means the interesting dog-related discussion is gone forever.

As I didn't set up the email correctly until today, it may be that some emails have also been lost. If you have sent me an email within the last month or so and received no reply that's probably what has happened. Sorry about that.

Impudent Peasant!

I've added Andrew Wright's new gamebook to the site, both in its original format (see the downloads page) and the online format.
