Hi guys, I'm really putting my all into Riders of the Storm, and I think its an awesome book. But I'm completely stopped and am in need of a real spoiler. Just past the fire elemental and through a dark tunnel, I find myself in a room with a portcullis at each opening. Well, half way through the room the rock cieling begins lowering until it crushes me to death. How or what do I need to get out of that situation Or, maybe I shouldn't ieven be in that area in the first place. lol And here I thought I was doing so good. :) I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer. Riders Of The Storm Phil Sadler has pointed out what he considers to be a continuity error in his gamebook. I have made the small changes that he has requested to both the online version and the Word document. |

I'm afraid you can not turn back and the only way to stop it is to complete the book. If you are finding things too difficult at this point then you may like to download and try out the text version. This version is certainly easier because it allows you to use luck in combat, and this will help you conserve stamina for later. |

I don't know how to do this myself, it would also depend on which browser you use. What I will say is that in an absolutely ideal world you would still have your browser open at the point where things went wrong. Then you could save your position (bookmark / add to favourites), email me the URL and wait for me to fix the problem (or for it to go away by itself) whereupon you could resume the game. I just checked and found I was able to use an endurance potion without anything bad happening, so I'm not sure what the problem is at the moment. Sorry about that. |

I did have my browser open where things went wrong, and gigured out how to fix it. I do have a question, though. I defeated the night demon, but it took me back to a bit after the beginning. Is it supposed to do this? |

There seems to be a bug with Riders of the storm. After difeating the night demon, the program returns you to the set of clearings with the three random exits. |

I've looked into it and I don't think it's a bug - I think it's the result of modifying the URL by hand. In a similar area, I have just fixed the Metal Sentinel problem in Hellfire mentioned by Ex a while back. And now that the mechanism exists to do this, completing Hellfire takes you automatically into Riders Of The Storm. |

HI, I am having a real tough time with Riders of the Storm. Any clues on how to get a spell to get past the Fire Elemental? The game is very well done but the choices make it really difficultto get the correct path. Thanks for any help. Walker |

The ship? I have never even seen a ship or even a lake except one of lava. I had thought I had gone every way possible but must have missed a bunch. Any suggestions on how to find that area? Thanks so much for your help. This is even harder than Hell Fire! G. |

I finished all the way through Wrong Way and finished the Dead world (noone died and we left.) I get to pots and know of the one you speak of. But quicksand? Never seen that either. I have been playing it for about 25-30 hours. Thanks for the tip. Walker |

The Water Elemental is killed with the empty pouch (might not be the actual item name, just going from memory here.) |
