Thanks for the comments. You bring up an interesting point regarding the thermal mac. However, I don't think Sean would be wearing it at the time - if I remember rightly it was a Backpack Item. Both Sean and Joe Saunders didn't plan on staying in the cryogenic chamber and, by the time the cyborgs are accidentally revived, it's too late for him to dig into the backpack and put on the mac. Later in the Polaris wastes, it turns out Sean doesn't personally require the mac as he's wearing an insulated armour suit. But the thermal mac does come in handy another way....

I apologise for the gamebook's combat difficulty, although I did insert opportunities for collecting meals and medication. Also, Sean's current Stamina is healed to its Initial score twice in BZP (and perhaps one or two Skill points, I can't remember). Also, loss of a Luck point - whatever the result - is part of the FF gameplay. Again, I do recall moments where Calibre receives Luck points if he learns valuable information or achieves mission objectives.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed the adventure. It was good of you to let me know how it went. Hope you succeed :)

Arghh! died thanks to that accursed Quanillian spider! Man that really seemed like a dirty trick. lol
Some of these enemys we face seem really tough though . I had a heck of a time with those REVIVED CYBORGS! And that scorpioid the way it blows up even after you defeat it. sheesh!

But, one day, one play through I'll make it all the way. but.. not even sure that was even close to my overall objective.
Is there somewhere I can find more ways of healing? I'm leaking stamina like a siv :P

Speaking of the revived cyborgs, I thought the following line would have been removed since I had a thermal mack.
Due to the intense cold from the shattered cryogenic pods, you must fight with your Attack Strength reduced by 1.
I just thought that would have been taken into account when fighting those things.

So far I've found the meal/ration packs, and the pills, they all give four stamina each. But I've yet to find both of those items in one game. hehe

Thanks for the kind words. Haramir: the adventure quite deliberately has very little interaction as it is an internal struggle - a personal and desperate bid to prevent the erosion of one's psyche AND form BEFORE even beginning to contemplate revenge. Desperation is the flavour of this adventure.

There is also a logical way to progress. I tried to have the story echo Steve Jackson's Sorcery! in this regard.

That's a very interesting story. But I would say that the young fellow needs help. It's an all-too common case of 'lashing out' in some form. Okay, so Norns are a digital pretence instead of the real thing, but in one sense you can understand how people are outraged - even if they did go way over the top. Like in the previous post, I mentioned something about procedure, or in this case method: to try and talk to the young man, calm him down, save him from himself and in turn spare those around him in the real world from possible forms of abuse. Some people have been dealt a bad hand and become, jealous, bitter, and angry so they're set on a path to destroy others.

It's also easy to become depressed by verbal abuse and intimidation. It happened to me where I live, walking barefoot one balmy evening, and - lo and behold! - there were sat a gang of teenagers. Not of the pleasant variety either. They saw I was barefoot, but did they politely ask why or simply ignore me? No, the ridicule came in waves. I expected nothing else, yet why they had to be causing trouble at 10pm boggles my mind. I wonder if Peter Jackson ever got abuse when he directed in bare feet? Or Joss Stone? Or Zola Budd? Or many other celebrities famous for bare feet? If I had the chance, I'd emigrate to New Zealand, and for a number of reasons.

Thanks for the kind words. Haramir, this adventure is written in a specific way. It quite deliberately has no interaction as it is an internal (both physically and mentally) and nightmarish trial for the protagonist. In essence, they are alone. I tried as much as possible to convey this in the text - unlike many of the original FF books there is no kindly old man/witch/farmer etc. along the way who can help.

There is also a logical way to progress, and I tried as much as possible to emulate Steve Jackson's Sorcery! in this respect.

Hey Robert, thanks for sharing. Reminds me of a website back in the 90's during the early days of the Internet. There was some sort of game called "Norns" where people bred and raised made up creatures ( it was kind of like an early pet simulation game). Apparently the "Norns" could be genetically bred to be predisposed to certain behaviors, and could be punished as well as fed/ played with like a regular pet.

One particular user would play the game but purposely torture the "Norns" and make them addicted to alcohol/ pain or make them depressed and not want to eat/live. Take from that what you will, but the online backlash from him was ridiculously severe- real people sent him constant death threats, and graphically described how they would torturw him, because he was literally torturing fictional creatures in a videogame. Really boggles the mind how some people don't get the irony, and also how far some people will go to threaten other living people over matters so trivial.

Final boss (obviously) originally designed to rival Night Dragon though on observing a current Let's Play of Legend of Zagor on The Gaming Den they have far more Stamina than Bone Demon Zagor as well. Live in fear! Also there are various others ripped off from Vampire the Masquerade, Lexx, Brian Lumley's Necroscope series and Ren and Stimpy. Meanwhile I missed off my Grand Admiral from my craft title earlier, shame on me. We are such little men.
