is safe. A fairly good game overall. Gameplay was slightly clunky, and the lack of battles was a little disappointing. But, a fairly good play for choices.

Seems like a hard ish adventure, which is appropriate for the theme. As far as I can tell, quite luck based as well as needing to make the correct decisions. A lot of instant lose conditions. Will be interesting to see if I can recreate the win conditions when playing again.

After a couple of unsuccessful tries, I've managed to "escape" the Keep. Good but gruesome story, very good narrative, but a somewhat unsatisfactory ending. I'd hoped I'd kill them myself.

Brutal as hell, but well-written.

Yeah, not sure about this one. It really needs more brutally graphic descriptions of extremely sadistic torture. As it is, it's just a bit too cute and Christmassy, don't you think?

Thanks for the endless descriptions of torture, I think the writer enjoyed it a little bit too much. Also this must be the only gamebook where your character has no agency or heroism, and just hangs around being tortured until they are rescued by a deus ex machina! In short I did not like it!

It's supposed to be the sequel to beneath nightmare castle, so I had no choice but to up the gross, violence, and intensity. The ending is done like that on purpose unfortunately, but no information was given out from your lips and you save the realm. Maybe.....

Meh. Other than this website, I mainly play rogueli(k/t)e games nowadays, and this reminds me of nothing more than Fear and Hunger. It had a similar torture keep setting (albeit you were more active protagonist there) and it had a similar feeling of the story essentially going through the motions of ticking off every awful thing it could think of, with no real imagination spared for anything else. Then again, I got more-or-less from the author's other works on here as well.
