Thanks for your comments. I agree with you that HOP has fallen under the radar for whatever reason. This is a pity because I consider it the best out of my 4 gamebooks.

I read the Port of Peril. It was crap, like one of those ultra simplistic outings like You Can Be The Stainless Steel Rat or Golem of Brick Lane, illusions of choices, railroaded at every place. Also while Blood of the Zombies might possibly have been, I doubt it was written by Livingstone either. The artwork has been justifiably universally vilified.I hold out marginally more hope for Gates of Death.

I loved your "Riders of the Storm" work and also liked (a little less) your insanity hard adventure named "Hellfire".

OK, this time, not so much did I enjoy this round. The cleric reacted a bit too eager and was served with a devastating loss of his hand, but really, the forces of Light and Good work by simply nuking things?? Oh, well. Third time may be the charm.

After a couple of unsuccessful tries, I've managed to "escape" the Keep. Good but gruesome story, very good narrative, but a somewhat unsatisfactory ending. I'd hoped I'd kill them myself.
