For a start, Gavin's favourite ending now counts as a second successful ending for which you get a CONGRATULATIONS message and potentially a star in the guestbook.
I've also added a series of challenges in the manner of the ones that exist in several other gamebooks.
You initiate the challenges by reaching one of the two successful endings in the usual way. You are then presented with an ADDITIONAL CHALLENGES link which sends you back to the start of the game and gives you a checklist of challenges to work your way through. It doesn't matter if you die on any subsequent attempt, you can keep going round and round until you are successful.
Not bad! I died a few times, but when I found the correct path, the game was fairly short. But I enjoyed the unique twist on similar fighting fantasy stories.
Hi, I've got a general feedback regarding one of the changes made to how the games are run:
I appreciate that there are players who prefer to speed things up by having the game "auto-run" during sections where there are no options available, but I think there's a pretty big downside to that: you miss the option to eat and heal in between sections.
For example, I just played Hunger of the Wolf. I battled a Felinaur and actually won the fight, but I was badly injured myself. I had the Provisions to heal, but because the game is set to auto-run until there's an option, I wasn't able to eat, and 2 sections later I got hit by an arrow for 4 damage and killed because I didn't get the chance to heal myself despite having the resources.
Maybe there ought to be an opportunity to pause every time to take some form of damage?
Yes that's a fair point. I'll try and look out for this sort of thing in future, and in response to the specific example you mention I've made it so that there is a pause after killing the Felinaur.
Couldn't get past the wall of green Hellfire... Must have missed something along the way I guess?
A couple of minor errors I noticed on the way through: 458 refers to some boxes in the text, but the options mix up "1st box" and "2nd box". It is clear from the description of noises which is which, though. I died (previously) on 9, but there's no option to submit a comment. I don't know if that's on purpose, but thought I'd mention.
I gather from some spoilers before I need to time-travel (or at least I should do it in the optimal path) but also choosing all possible combinations of chatter with the devil-bot, I can't find the correct one to allow me to!
