If someone could help me navigate back to baron's vault I'd appreciate it. Got back to path with tigers, killed one but ended up where I started from, back at ship.

Tales From The Bird Islands
Sorry, guys. Just realized my post had a bit of an error. The tiger path leads me to baron's vault, however I always end up fighting one. I assume I need to bring them a treat or something right?

So I've obtained the sleeping dragon, released the Krakken at albatross, completed Hummingbird, gotten the gold from Sapphire Atthole, fixed the bird cult thing at the P island, pretty much did everything else, including nentai and Storm petrol. I can still not get to Simpura though, nor have I encountered the crystal statue a few have mentioned. Any suggestions?
Sempura is one of the options whenever you leave an island, you should always be able to get there.

It gives the message, paraphrased of ourse, that Sempura is full of undead bone creatures and a hidden cyclopse village. Perhaps one day you will be able to encounter these things, but not today. Lol.
This is because you've already been there and completed both In The Shade Of The Pango Tree and Debacle At Dead Man's Inn (and possibly Into The Valley Of Halos as well). There isn't anything else to do on Sempura at the moment, so you just get moved on.

Alternatively, I could reach Sempura by paying for passage from the first island, but I either fail the luck test, or get this URL.

(URL deleted)
It isn't possible to take the ferry from Goi-Han to Sempura, not successfully anyway - but as I said above, you've already been there and done everything you can.

As far as the URL you posted goes : there was a bug that I introduced a couple of weeks ago and have now fixed. It wasn't exactly to do with going to Sempura, but with the loss of all items that takes place after taking the ferry. Additionally, for some reason, the URL has an extra '1' on the end of it : it should end with 91 not 911. Remove the extra '1' and it will now work.

Wayne Densley, creator of Arborell and the Windhammer competition is now on Patreon! I, for one am backing him at $7 a month just based on his past work, but now he plans on releasing a micro-gamebook a month, so it's a no brainer.

Noticed a glitch.
If you are playing it and you are on Reference 150, or Reference 225 (you'll be in a room with a globe). It tells you to (Turn to 257). Which leads you to one of my instant deaths that make no sense as that reference is for another part of the book. This is a mistake.
It should give you this option instead:
Leave the room and try the door opposite (Turn to 281)
Leave the room and press on up the passage (Turn to 361)

Satan's Academy
@ Paul Mc,
It's probably a good idea to check through the entire Satan's Academy in case of any more glitches. You can always request Andy to make some changes (not sure if 'download' types would be read-only, but certainly 'option-click' types in the list above left can be altered by the webmeister if requested). Many gamebook writers do make mistakes - look up 'Snakeland Scorpion' on Titannica Wiki and some errors are listed there! And that's not including grammatical errors. Besides which, some of the published FF (yes, where the commissioned authors were paid) had some reference errors. I'll get round to playing your gamebook when I have some spare time: at the moment I'm trying to get round to reading 'Warriors of the Storm' by Bernard Cornwell, while SCCF Book 2 is an ongoing project. Incidentally, I've had to extend this by another hundred references to accommodate certain gameplay ideas.
I generally leave the original texts in the hands of the authors. There is the occasional exception to this, for example when I put Alessandro Viola's Italian translations into Any Port In A Storm, but by and large I leave them alone. Sometimes authors send me updated versions, and I replace the currently available versions with these, but I rarely edit anything.

Bloodsworth Bayou
Bloodsworth Bayou

Frenchman Street had been decked with lanterns last night, and the jazz clubs thronged with revellers, their faces made oddly skull-like by the half-lights. A bottle of Restoration Ale firmly in hand, you accidentally trod on somebody's foot when exiting the Black Cat. The girl was Creole, and young, and startlingly beautiful, but her mouth twisted into a snarl, and she muttered something under her breath...

This atmospheric gamebook by Cian Gill set in the swamps of Louisiana, which has been on the downloads page for several years, is now ready for online play.

The Curse Of Drumer
I'm wondering if I should make a change to 'The Curse of Drumer'? That riddle used to open the secret 'hellclock' door doesn't make much sense with 'a couple' factored into the equation which was really intended for the 400 paragraph limitation; works well enough for Download Section version, but rather confusing for those playing the clickable version (in list above left).
We discussed this at the time. I found the puzzle in the original text incomprehensible as written (even though it's based on a fairly simple general knowledge question), and the online version cleared this up, in my mind at least.

I think in either case the confusion stems from the fact that Jimmy speaks instructions to the player rather than the character : "I know the long hand is used to halve the three digits", something that makes no sense for him to say.

I'm leaning towards just removing the references to the long hand altogether in the online version, it was never part of the puzzle anyway.

Im enjoying the story but not quite sure what actually the quest is.
It's in the introduction - you're hoping to get rid of the curse that the girl has placed on you.

Ive checked and there are no other glitches... the problem came about when I added a new set of options in the book.

@ Andy,
Sorry, wasn't sure if you could alter online versions at author's request if they sent an email. My mistake. Really glad you had the translations inserted, more authentic, thanks to Alessandro!

The Curse Of Drumer
That would be okay Andy. As you say, the long-hand part of the puzzle doesn't make sense for the clickable version of TCOD. But it does work for the Download version regarding the 400 ref limit. Apologies for the way it was written down. Sorry I didn't go with this before you put the adventure on the list. Entirely my fault.

Is there a forthcoming James Bond movie called: 'Tears of Acid Rain'? Or something like that?

Although I no longer write gamebooks, I do still have ones that have been sitting on my computer for ages. If you've read Grekgun, there is still part II and part III to it that are now completed and just need to be released. Not sure if I can still use Lulu, but if I can, they'll probably go there in 2016 & 2017. I have other mini ones that will probably just go on my free website in the coming months in 2016. But that's it unless I upgrade and get endless pages to do fun gamebook stuff with (but not writing new ones).

Do feel free to follow me on Twitter, I try to keep it updated with projects I'm working on when I'm not rambling on about useless things.

I also send FF quizzies to the Official Fighting Fantasy site regularly. A new one is on the way...
