Impudent Peasant!
Fun game! I love the "day by day" way it plays out. Eating at both night and immediatley after in the morning seems kind of redundant, though.

I've played this maybe 6 times so far and WOW, Great work! The feeling is that I haven't even discovered 1/3rd of the adventure so far. Nicely done, Sir! *gives a bow* ... ok, I've got to run for now because attempt #7 is beckoning ;)

A Flame In The North

This has been quite an impressive adventure. The starting from the Shadow of the North reminded me of times when I'd just installed a new fantasy game on my computer (i.e. Everquest or Dark Age of Camelot) and the epic buildup in Flame of the North reminds me some of the Dragon Reborn series. The city defense theme was also particularly enjoyable to see, especially considering I'd actually been thinking of creating an adventure with some similar elements. Kudos to you Sir or Madam. Between these 2 adventures I've probably spent at least 10 hours. Thanks to FFPROJECT.COM as well for making the material so accessible.

Took me ages to find the thing I needed to win and many attempts - great story and a decent challenge. The writing was evocative and in the true spirit of a fighting fantasy book. Great work!

A Day In The Life
There's been a lot of talk about who will be the Saturday headliner at Bloodstock this year. I guess they could indeed book Lars Ulrich, for people to throw things at.

Total War
Sundial Corner is proud to announce the eleventh instalment in the Saxon Chronicles: a fantastic series set in late Dark Age England, and written by historical author Bernard Cornwell. 'War of the Wolf' sees our warlord hero and ardent pagan under threat from two foes - one old, one new. Can he hold on to the reclamation of his ancestral home of Bebbanburg? Or has this mighty warrior finally met his match? Be sure to check the Book Club section for more details coming soon!

In the meantime, Bernard Cornwell has written many novels since 1981, and his very first book was 'Sharpe's Eagle', introducing Lieutenant Richard Sharpe: an officer raised from the ranks to lead the Chosen Men of the 95th Rifles during the Peninsular War. He went on to write a total of twenty one novels (to date) within the Richard Sharpe series alongside three short stories. However, in later years, Bernard inserted additional novels between those already released; causing some degree of confusion to new fans of his work (thankfully, a full list of the novels in chronological order can be found on both Wikipedia and his website).

Bernard is also renowned for the legendary 'Warlord Chronicles', a trilogy portraying his version of King Arthur during the very early post-Roman years of ancient Britain. It follows the adventures and campaigns of Derfel, a Saxon saved by Merlin, he then becomes a mighty warrior and warlord serving in Arthur's army. Apart from the dire threat of encroaching Saxon invaders and Irish raiders, Britannia is divided by rival, squabbling kingdoms.

'The Grail Quest' series tells the tale of Thomas of Hookton, an English Archer during the brutal, turbulent Hundred Years War. As always, Bernard's descriptive talent brings to vivid life those battles about which we read in the history books, such as Crecy and Neville's Cross. The fourth title '1356' was celebrated as Bernard Cornwell's 50th novel.

Bernard has written several 'standalone' historical novels. One of his greatest works is the excellent 'Azincourt' (or more famously 'Agincourt', which Bernard asserted that Azincourt is actually the correct name and place of the battle!). The protagonist is Nicholas Hook, an archer in the service of King Henry V. There have also been two novels set during the American War of Independence: 'Redcoat' and 'The Fort'. A mystery set during late Georgian England comes in the form of 'Gallows Thief'. 'Stonehenge' (as the title suggests) takes place during the Bronze Age. And 'Fools and Mortals' follows the trials and tribulations of Richard Shakespeare, younger brother to the world-famous poet of Elizabethan England - and Bernard himself is a keen dramatist, so writing this was doubtless a special treat for himself.

He is currently busy writing the next (and twelfth) Saxon Chronicle...and I daresay another foray into the world of Sharpe!

"'Sundial Corner' is sponsored by 'Sukumvit Sentinels' - guaranteed to keep your treasures safe and dungeons free of those pesky adventurers! Even the mightiest blade will bounce harmlessly off their bejewelled form, so that you can deploy our Sentinels again, AND again, ETCETERAAAAA!...."

The download claims that one of the faction choices grants a bonus to Skill, which did not happen in the electronic version.

Wielding a Pike does not appear to impede combat rolls after the first few fights (and impales from time to time anyway).

Also, maybe I'm missing something, but does the chain whip you can get at the start serve any purpose?

Originally Maggott's starting whip only does 1 point of damage, the chain whip does 2. There would be various other stronger whips lying around to offset this.

Apologies this has nothing to do with FF, but this is now my sixth year as a barefooter. It is also the coldest it's been for me. And my bare feet are doing very well, thank you. It's amazing how resilient they become to the cold. Let's see how far I can push the boundaries, shove the threshold up higher. Toodlepip!

@Robert

I have extremely sweaty feet, so I almost always go with footwear that allows good ventilation. A pair of woolly slippers, for instance, just wouldn't work for me, since they would become drenched in sweat in a matter of minutes, and I would have to squeeze the sweaty goo into a bathtub. The horror!
Just how barefoot are you? Surely you're not going outdoors barefoot as well?

@bcyy

Surely yes, sir! Although it's very cold at first, my feet soon begin to warm up - as long as I keep moving to pump blood around my body. I'm one of very few numbering the Barefoot Brigade in winter. Steadily becoming a true veteran. What, you think that's mad?! Try saying that to a barefooter….in SIBERIA! -40 degrees Celsius, perhaps lower. Impossible? Only for those who aren't acclimatized.

Oh the shock, oh the horror! Who is that strange barefoot man? Why does he go barefoot in late Autumn? Let me tell you a story.... I went to the local opticians today. Walked in, smiled, presented my appointment card. Now as you might know they also offer an auditory (hearing) check. Did I need one? No. How did I know that? Because, unknowingly to the two girls talking, I could pick up certain words such as, 'no shoes'. And the glancing over at me is a dead giveaway. Some people can pick up certain sound levels - and talking low or whispering doesn't always achieve intended inaudibility.

Anyway, guaranteed I'll be barefoot tomorrow when taking my spare pair of glasses in to be 're-lensed' (is that a word?). Well, unless I wake up dead, ha, ha! And I'll be dropping a hint or two....

It's not so much the cold that deters me from going outside barefoot as it is the danger of the nasty stuff that I could potentially step on. If I were to go outdoors barefoot, I could imagine I would have chewing gum and nails stuck to my feet at the end of the day, not to mention the occasional hookworm...
Conserve your luck score. You need it for more important things.
